    • “…decried from all corners of the political sphere…”

Not up to Gary Younge’s standards. “All corners of the political spectrum” would have been better.

Re Watership Down: I was thinking of doing a review of Tales from W.D., but didn’t want to re-read it. Then I thought I might do a review of W.D. itself. Then I saw you had. It is a remarkable book. It has even inspired a band:

      Fall of Efrafa

I liked Shardik and The Plague Dogs when I was young too.

  1. So Tales from Watership Down isn’t a good book? I haven’t read that one, but I have read the little-known third book in the series, Naked Hutch, co-written with Kathy Acker and William S Burroughs. It’s about a gay rabbit in 1950s New York who learns to question binary gender programming at art school. Thanks for the CS Lewis book, by the way. I’ll read it as soon as I can.

It’s ok, from what I remember, but not that good. I will re-read it sometime.

Burroughs on burrows buggery in the Bowery.
